See What the Same Vet Visit Costs at Every Hour of the Week
Pick your animal, what it needs and your own practice’s opening hours, then pick the hour it happens. The board shows when a Berlin vet charges normal rates and when only the emergency service is open, and what the same visit costs at each.

Every vet in Germany bills from the same fee schedule, the GOT, and the hour decides which part of it applies. During your practice’s regular hours a visit costs one to three times the listed fee. At night from 18:00 to 08:00, at weekends from Friday 18:00 to Monday 08:00 and on public holidays, the emergency service charges two to four times the fee plus a flat €50 emergency fee, once per case. Opening hours win over the clock: a practice open until 20:00 bills a 19:30 visit at normal rates. This board lays the whole week out on one grid for the animal and the visit you pick. Green hours are your practice at normal rates, dark blue hours are the emergency service. Move to the hour it happens and the bill panel shows the range including VAT, next to the range at your practice’s next open hour, so you can see what waiting until the morning would change for a case that can safely wait. What the board shows
Seven rows for the days of the week and 24 columns for the hours, or the other way round on a phone. Each cell is coloured by who can see your animal at that hour: green for your own practice at its normal one to three times the fee, dark blue for the emergency service at two to four times plus the €50 emergency fee. The darker the cell, the higher the top of the range.
How the bill is calculated
The visit you pick is a list of fee items from the GOT: a general examination with advice, an injection, sedation, X-ray images, an ultrasound, a wound check or a bandage. The board adds them at the single rate, applies the range for the hour, adds the €50 emergency fee where it applies, and then 19% VAT. A dog or cat examination is listed at €23.62, a rabbit or guinea pig at €15.39.
Why opening hours matter more than the clock
The GOT counts 18:00 to 08:00 as night and Friday 18:00 to Monday 08:00 as the weekend, but those rules do not apply inside a practice’s regular consultation hours. So a practice that is open until 20:00, or on Saturday morning, bills those hours at normal rates. Set your own practice’s hours to see where your green ends.
What it cannot tell you
Where a bill lands inside the range is the practice’s decision, and medicine, lab work and anything beyond the listed items come on top. The board says nothing about whether your animal can wait. Breathing trouble, heavy bleeding, collapse, poison or a swollen belly in a dog mean go now, whatever the hour.
