The pools are not what decides a thermal day outside Berlin. The timetable is. Bad Belzig closes at 22:00 but its last useful train leaves at 21:44, the Templin bus runs once an hour, and Bad Saarow still gets you back to Hauptbahnhof after midnight. What the timeline shows
Six thermal baths outside Berlin on one Saturday: Kristall Therme Ludwigsfelde, SaarowTherme in Bad Saarow, Fontane Therme in Neuruppin, SteinTherme in Bad Belzig, NaturTherme Templin and Spreewald Therme in Burg. For each one the bar shows the ride out, the hours you actually spend in the water, and the ride back to Hauptbahnhof. The red line marks closing time and the yellow block the time you wanted but lose to closing time or the last train.
Where the numbers come from
Trains and buses were read from the VBB journey planner for a normal Saturday in October, door to door from Berlin Hauptbahnhof, regional services only, so a Deutschlandticket covers every leg.
Prices are adult Saturday prices with sauna, from each operator’s own price list, checked on 26 September 2026. Ludwigsfelde changed its prices in September 2026.
Fifteen minutes are added between the door and the water, and twenty between the water and the door, for changing and showering.
How to read the answer
The timeline picks the ticket that gives you the most of the time you asked for, and among equal options the one that gets you home first. Two house rules matter on a Saturday: Ludwigsfelde is textile-free, and Bad Saarow only admits guests over 16. Engineering works and the December timetable change can move these trains, so check the journey planner on the morning you go.
