A Berlin Sunday feels broken only when you try to use it like a weekday. Normal shops are usually closed, but flea markets, museums, cafés, parks and lakes give the day its own rhythm. This planner starts with the area where you are staying, asks whether the weather is sunny or grey, and then builds either an easy day or a fuller one. Mauerpark now starts at 10:00, Nowkoelln runs only on selected published dates, and the Pergamonmuseum remains fully closed until its partial reopening on 4 June 2027. The tool flags those facts instead of sending you to a closed stop.
What this planner does
Choose sunny or grey weather, your base in Mitte, Prenzlauer Berg, Kreuzberg and Neukölln, or Friedrichshain, and an easy or full pace. The tool returns a morning market, a nearby food stop, an indoor or outdoor afternoon, and an evening move with travel notes. Every branch is specific to the area rather than a generic list.
What is open on Sunday
Normal shops and supermarkets are usually closed under the Berlin Shop Opening Act. Useful exceptions include selected station supermarkets, emergency pharmacies, hospitality, and some limited product ranges. Museums often have Sunday hours, while many close on Monday. Check the exact venue before travelling because special events and seasonal schedules can change.
Market and museum checks
Mauerpark and Boxhagener Platz currently run from 10:00 to 18:00 on Sundays. Arkonaplatz normally runs from 10:00 to 17:00 in summer and to 16:00 in winter. Nowkoelln uses selected published dates, usually every two weeks in season. The Pergamonmuseum is fully closed now, with a large part scheduled to reopen on 4 June 2027.
