Where should you run in Berlin today?
Six real Berlin running loops on one map: the Tiergarten classic, the Museum Island sunrise round, the Tempelhofer Feld ring, the Landwehrkanal towpath, Treptower Park and the Volkspark Friedrichshain round. Pick a distance and a time of day, and see which loop carries that run naturally.
Every loop is drawn as a real route line with its distance computed from the drawn geometry, its start point and station, its surface, and its water situation. The map answers the two questions a visiting runner actually has: how far, and when. It knows that Tempelhofer Feld locks its gates at 20:30 in September, that the Tiergarten interior goes dark, and that the Museum Island round belongs to whoever is out before 08:00. Loop details checked on 2 September 2026.
Berlin is one of the easiest running cities in Europe: flat, green, and generous with space. The hard part for a visitor is not finding somewhere to run but choosing between six very different somewheres, each with its own hours, surface and mood. This map holds all six loops at once, filters them by the distance you actually want to run and the hour you can actually get out, and gives each one a start station so no run strands you across the city.
What this tool does
It draws six running loops on one real-coordinate map of central Berlin and lets you filter them by two things: how far you want to run today, and when you can get out. A deep green line carries your chosen distance naturally, a lime line works with a lap or a turnaround, and a grey dashed line is one to skip at that hour. Tapping a loop opens its card: the computed distance, the start point and its station, the surface underfoot, where water is on the way, and how to stretch or shorten the run.
The six loops
The Tiergarten classic is about 5 km of gravel and old trees from the Brandenburg Gate round the Victory Column. The Museum Island sunrise round is about 3 km through the historic centre, best before 08:00 when the famous square kilometre is empty. The Tempelhofer Feld ring is about 5 km of dead-flat taxiway asphalt on a former airfield, with the two runway straights for intervals. The Landwehrkanal towpath gives about 6.5 km there and back under Kreuzberg plane trees. Treptower Park pairs the widest stretch of the inner-city Spree with the Soviet War Memorial in about 3 km, and the Volkspark Friedrichshain round is the short loop with the one honest climb, the 78-metre Bunkerberg.
My advice
Run early. Before 09:00 every loop on this map works, the air is cool, and the historic centre belongs to you. If evening is all you have, respect the two hard limits the map enforces: Tempelhofer Feld locks its gates at 20:30 in September, and the Tiergarten interior is unlit, so after dark the lit city streets and the Volkspark round are the honest choices.
