Berlin Ringbahn Explorer

An interactive map of Berlin's Ringbahn, the S41 and S42 circle line locals call the Hundekopf. Tap any of the 27 stations to see which neighbourhood it opens up, or follow the ring clockwise (S41) and anticlockwise (S42).

A free interactive map of Berlin's S41/S42 Ringbahn circle line.

Use this free Berlin tool to understand the Ringbahn, the circular S-Bahn line that wraps around the city. Tap stations, switch direction, and see which neighbourhood each stop opens up.

What this map does

The Berlin Ringbahn Explorer lays out the S41/S42 circle line as a ring, so you can see the shape locals call the Hundekopf and understand how the Ring wraps around the centre rather than crossing it.

Best use

Use it to tell the two directions apart (S41 clockwise, S42 anticlockwise), find the four corner interchanges, and pick which neighbourhood stop is worth leaving the train for.

Local guide note

The Ring is not a monument tour; it circles the centre. Use it to reach Berlin’s neighbourhoods and to feel the shape of the city. For landmarks in one ride, Bus 100 is the better choice.
