Which night trains leave Berlin tonight?

Six sleeper routes leave Berlin, but only two of them run every night, and two do not even use Hauptbahnhof. Pick where you want to wake up and the board shows which nights the train runs, when it leaves, and how your night maps out hour by hour.

Choose a destination, Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam, Zurich and Basel, Vienna and Budapest, or Stockholm by two different trains, and the board draws that route against the whole week: which nights it actually departs, which Berlin station it uses, when it leaves, where the sleep window falls, and when you step off the next morning. Every timetable was checked on 1 September 2026.

Berlin quietly became one of the best night-train cities in Europe, and the map moved twice in 2026: European Sleeper took over the Paris route in March after the Nightjet was withdrawn, and the Stockholm EuroNight changed operators on 1 September. The catch is that the routes run on different nights of the week and from two different stations, so a plan built on guesswork misses trains. This board puts the whole season on one screen so you can pick the city you wake up in first and build your Berlin dates around it.

What this tool does

It is a departure board for every night train that leaves Berlin this season. The week grid shows all six routes against the seven nights, with tonight highlighted, and the hour-by-hour timeline shows the selected journey from the evening platform to the morning arrival, with the sleep window marked. The verdict card underneath tells you the next available night, the station, the fare range and the booking site, so one glance answers the three questions that decide these trips: does it run tonight, where do I board, and when do I wake up.

The timetable behind the board

Vienna and Budapest share one nightly train from Berlin Hbf around 20:11, splitting overnight to arrive at 07:00 and 08:29. The Nightjet to Basel and Zurich leaves nightly at 20:48. European Sleeper runs Paris on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 17:25 and Brussels with Amsterdam on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday at 23:01, both from Berlin Gesundbrunnen. Stockholm has the fast RDC EuroNight on Monday and Friday at 18:39 and the cheaper Snälltåget at 21:09 most nights. All times checked on 1 September 2026; trackwork moves minutes, so confirm your own date when booking.

My advice

Pick the arrival city first and let that train choose your Berlin dates, especially for Paris and Stockholm, which only run three nights a week. Book couchettes or sleeper berths two to three months ahead, and read the station name on the ticket carefully: standing at Hauptbahnhof with a Gesundbrunnen departure is the classic way to watch your bed leave without you. And skip the sleeper for Prague; it passes Prague around half past midnight, so a day train serves that city far better.
