Is There a Football Match While You Are in Berlin?
Berlin has one football club you can almost always get into and one you basically cannot. Set the days you are in the city and see every Union Berlin, Hertha BSC and Union Frauen home game that falls inside them, which kickoff times are actually confirmed, and what it would take to get through the turnstile.

Most visitors plan a Berlin football trip the wrong way round. They look for Bundesliga tickets, land on Hertha BSC, and only then discover that Hertha are in the second division and the Bundesliga club is Union Berlin, out in the woods at Köpenick in a ground that holds 22,012 and sells out. This board lays the whole 2026/27 season out at once. Put in the days you are here, and it shows you every home game inside them, whether the kickoff time is actually fixed yet or only the weekend, what a ticket costs, and which line takes you to the ground.
What this tool does
It turns a fixture list into a travel decision. You set your first and last day in Berlin, and the board shows every home game for Union Berlin, Hertha BSC and Union Berlin Frauen that falls inside those dates, with the ticket route and the transport route for each one. If nothing falls inside your window, it says so plainly rather than pretending otherwise.
Why it shows weekends instead of kickoff times
Because that is usually all that has been fixed. The German leagues published the full 2026/27 fixture lists on 2 July 2026, but only the match weekend is set at that stage. Exact kickoff times are confirmed a few weeks ahead, once television has picked its slots. A game listed as 9 to 11 October could end up on a Friday night or a Sunday evening, which is a completely different weekend for a short trip. The board marks a fixture as confirmed only when the club has actually announced the time.
The two grounds
Stadion An der Alten Försterei in Köpenick holds 22,012, of which 18,395 are standing places on terraces the fans rebuilt themselves in 2008 and 2009. Take the S3 from Alexanderplatz to S Köpenick and walk about 15 minutes. The Olympiastadion in the west was built for around 74,000 and is reached on the U2 to Olympia-Stadion, about a 5 minute walk. Both are roughly 40 minutes from the centre and inside the normal AB fare area.
One warning worth repeating
Union Berlin tickets are personalised and cannot be passed on, and the club states that tickets bought through resale marketplaces lose their validity. That means no entry and no refund. If you need a resale ticket, use the club own exchange. Hertha route their official resale through their own Clubsale in the same way.
