The confirmed 2026 starts
The handbike top field starts at 08:20, elite wheelchair racers at 08:26 and the remaining wheelchair and handbike field at 08:29. Six runner waves then leave from 08:45 to 10:27. At the 2025 winning pace, a leader starting at 08:45 would finish at about 10:47, but that does not reopen the streets.
Which side was scheduled to reopen first
In Berlin’s 2025 traffic plan, Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg were scheduled from around 14:00, the south from about 16:30, Mitte and the west from roughly 17:30, and Unter den Linden at about 19:00. Wait for the official 2026 map before relying on any one of those times.
How to cross the course
A short U-Bahn or S-Bahn journey, or a station underpass, is usually the practical way past a blocked section. Check BVG, VBB or S-Bahn live service rather than assuming every line is normal. Use only confirmed surface crossings; current organiser guidance directs start and finish area crossings through Pariser Platz.
