Where to Borrow a Free Cargo Bike in Berlin, Day by Day
Every free fLotte cargo bike in Berlin and the belt around it, at its real pickup point. Pick the day you want to collect it and what it has to carry, then tap a dot for the station hours and that bike's next two weeks.

Berlin has more than 240 cargo bikes you can borrow for free through the fLotte network, parked at bookshops, cafés, libraries and neighbourhood centres. The hard part is the weekend: on 22 September about 200 to 230 bikes could be collected on a weekday, 70 on a Saturday and 12 on a Sunday, and most weekend days were already booked. This map shows every bike at its pickup point and lights up the ones you can actually collect on the day you pick, with the features you need. Tap a dot to see the hand-over hours and the next two weeks as booked, free or closed, then book on the bike's own page. If your day is a Saturday, look at weekday-only stations too: closed days count as one booking day, so Friday to Monday still fits the three-day limit.
What the dots mean
Each dot is a fLotte pickup point. A green dot hands over at least one bike with everything you ticked on the day you picked; its size grows with the number of matching bikes. A small grey dot is closed that day or has no matching bike. The dashed line is the S-Bahn ring, drawn through the 27 Ringbahn stations.
What the two-week strip shows
When you tap a station, every bike there gets a row of fifteen squares for the fortnight that was open for booking: red is booked, green is free, grey is closed. The days that match the weekday you picked are outlined in yellow. The strip is a snapshot from 22 September 2026, so use it to see how busy a station usually is and check the live calendar before you book.
How to get a bike for the weekend
Most pickup points are shops and offices with weekday hours. Book Friday to Monday at one of them: closed days count together as one booking day, so that still counts as three. The calendar opens 14 days ahead, one new day each morning, and bikes outside the S-Bahn ring were about half as booked as those inside it.
What it cannot tell you
Bookings change every hour, bikes go into repair, and stations sometimes close on short notice. The map shows where and when to look; the booking page on flotte-berlin.de has the live answer. The bike never goes on a train, so plan a route you can ride both ways.
