Which Berlin bus stop should your FlixBus end at?

Berlin’s central bus station, the ZOB at Messedamm 8, sits in Westend at the far western edge of the inner city, about 7 km from Alexanderplatz. That surprises almost everyone who arrives on a cheap coach. The good news is double. First, two rail stations sit within a four minute walk of the platforms, and between them they cover the whole city: U Kaiserdamm for the centre, S Messe Nord/ZOB for the Ring. Second, many FlixBus routes also call at Alexanderplatz, Hauptbahnhof, Südkreuz, Ostbahnhof, Zoologischer Garten and four more stops, so the smartest move often happens at booking time, before the bus ever reaches the ZOB. The two stations at the ZOB
Everything at the ZOB comes down to a four minute walk in one of two directions. U Kaiserdamm carries the U-Bahn straight through Zoologischer Garten, Wittenbergplatz and Potsdamer Platz to Alexanderplatz. S Messe Nord/ZOB, directly across Messedamm, carries the Ring S-Bahn: the S41 reaches Schönhauser Allee in Prenzlauer Berg in 17 minutes, the S42 reaches Südkreuz in 15 and Neukölln in 23, no changes. Centre means Kaiserdamm, Ring means Messe Nord.
My advice
Check the stop list for your exact departure when you book, not when you arrive. A ride that also calls at Alexanderplatz or Südkreuz can hand you half an hour of your first Berlin evening back for free. If your route only serves the ZOB, buy the AB ticket in the app while the bus is still on the motorway, then walk straight to the right station instead of studying the network map in the wind. I have watched too many arrivals lose that hour.
