Where Can You Pick Your Own Apples Near Berlin, and on Which Day?
Five pick-your-own apple orchards sit within reach of Berlin, and they do not open on the same days. Two pick on a Monday, three on a Wednesday, all five only at the weekend. Choose the day you are free and the station you would leave from, and the map crosses out the fields that are shut, ranks the rest by the real VBB journey time and tells you the latest time to leave with an hour of picking left.
Picking days and hours come from each farm’s own page, checked on 18 September 2026: Obsthof Lindicke in Glindow, Obstgut Marquardt in Satzkorn, Neumann’s Erntegarten in Potsdam-Bornim, Selbstpflücke Elisenau in Ahrensfelde and Bio Apfelhof Müller in Wesendahl. Journey times are the fastest VBB connection after 10:00 on a weekday, a Saturday and a Sunday in late September. Fare zones come from the VBB list of destinations. Farms change hours at short notice, so check the farm’s page on the morning you go.
Every September somebody in a Berlin group chat suggests apple picking on Saturday, and nobody checks whether the farm picks on a Saturday, whether its bus runs at the weekend, or whether the field is inside the ticket they already pay for. This planner starts with the day, because the day decides more than the farm does.
The day decides more than the farm
Obstgut Marquardt and Selbstpflücke Elisenau pick every day, Bio Apfelhof Müller from Tuesday to Sunday, Neumann’s Erntegarten from Friday to Sunday in the week of 18 September, and Obsthof Lindicke only on Saturdays and Sundays. So a Monday leaves two fields and a Saturday leaves all five. Pick your free day first and the choice of farm mostly makes itself.
Your ABC ticket reaches further than you think
The C zone of the Berlin tariff covers whole towns around the city. The VBB list of destinations puts Satzkorn and Bornim in Potsdam, Elisenau, Bernau, Strausberg and Wesendahl inside Berlin C, so four of the five fields are covered by an ABC ticket. The exception is Glindow: Werder (Havel) station is inside the ABC area, the Lindicke orchard beyond it is not. A Deutschlandticket covers all five.
Weekday buses and weekend walks
Elisenau is the quickest field of all on a weekday, about 45 minutes from Ostkreuz on the RB25 and bus 895, but that bus does not run at the weekend and the Saturday route ends with 1.7 km on foot from Bernau. Wesendahl has a regular bus 931 from S Strausberg Nord on weekdays, while at the weekend part of the service runs as the R931 call bus, booked by phone at least 90 minutes ahead.
What this planner cannot know
It does not know the weather, and heavy rain closes fields. It does not know this morning’s update either: Neumann’s Erntegarten changes its hours week by week and Elisenau posts every morning whether the field opens. Use the map to choose, then open the farm’s own page before you leave the flat.
